DID WE FORGET ANYTHING?

Click the header for another exhilirating trip on the internet. -------------------------------------------- Congratulations to the Canadians in Quebec who had the courage and conviction to exhibit their common sense in officially banning the hijab for certain transactions where identity is mandatory. It's a start. It's a privilege to be allowed to immigrate and to live in this country, not a right. When this hit the e-news a few weeks ago, there was overwhelming support by the readers who AGREED with Quebec's action. Letter to the Editor: So many letter writers have explained how this land is made up of immigrants. Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of "immigrant" any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to America, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line at Ellis Island and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good bye to their birth place to happily give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills, craftsmanship and desire they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity. Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. Americans fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France, Japan, China, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Sweden, Poland and so many other places. None of these first generation Americans gave a thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Canadians fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending Freedom as one people. When we liberated France, no one in those villages was looking for the Italian-American or the German-American or the Irish-American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented our country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be a American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl. And here we are in 2010 with a new kind of immigrant who wants our rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes an American passport but a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being a American is all about. Americans have been very open-hearted and open-minded regarding immigrants, whether they were fleeing poverty, dictatorship, persecution, or whatever else makes us think of those aforementioned immigrants who truly did ADOPT our country, and our flag and our morals and our customs, and left their wars, hatred, and divisions behind. I believe that the immigrants who landed in America in the early 1900s deserve better than that for the toil, hard work and sacrifices of their efforts and wisdom. Those people who legally searched for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags, fighting foreign battles on our soil, trying to make Americans change to suit their religions and cultures, and wanting to change our country's fabric by claiming discrimination when we do not give in to their demands. Its about time we get real and stand up for our forefathers rights, we are American. Lest we forget. I am a Native of this Country and proud of it! No more political correctness. None. No more not saying CHRISTMAS in stores and our schools. I want the America of my birth back. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And my flag flew today.

I GUESS WASHINGTON LOVES ME

Be sure to click on the header.

A dear friend sent this to me.

Although I requested the President add a clause that would force all politicians and political appointees to accept his bill as their standard for health care, it didn't happen.
Better luck next time?

Here are sme thoughts on the Mexican invasion of America. I have not altered nor edited the following comments.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LETTER FROM A RETIRED BORDER PATROL AGENT:
This letter sent to Tennessee Senator Bill Frist from a retired border patrol agent, and it has more common sense than all the bull being spewed from the Senate, with the exception of a few sensible representatives.
Dear Senator Frist: There is a huge amount of propaganda and myths circulating about illegal aliens, particularly illegal Mexican, Salvadorian, Guatemalan and Honduran aliens.
#1. Illegal aliens generally do NOT want US citizenship. Americans are very vain thinking that everybody in the world wants to be a US citizen. Mexicans, and other nationalities want to remain citizens of their home countries while obtaining the benefits offered by the United States such as employment, medical care, instate tuition, government subsidized housing and free education for their offspring. Their main attraction is employment and their loyalty usually remains at home. They want benefits earned and subsidized by middle class Americans. What illegal aliens want are benefits of American residence without paying the price.
#2. There are no jobs that Americans won't do. Illegal aliens are doing jobs that Americans can't take and still support their families. Illegal aliens take low wage jobs, live dozens in a single residence home, share expenses and send money to their home country. There are no jobs that Americans won't do for a decent wage.
#3. Every person who illegally entered this nation left a home. They are NOT homeless and they are NOT Americans. Some left jobs in their home countries. They come to send money to their real home as evidenced by the more than 20 billion dollars sent out of the country each year by illegal aliens. These illegal aliens knowingly and willfully entered this nation in violation of the law and therefore assumed the risk of detection and deportation. Those who brought their alien children assumed the responsibility and risk on behalf of their children.
#4. Illegal aliens are NOT critical to the economy. Illegal aliens constitute less than 5% of the workforce. However, they reduce wages and benefits for lawful US residents.
#5. This is NOT an immigrant nation. There are 280 million native born Americans. While it is true that this nation was settled and founded by immigrants (legal immigrants), it is also true that there is not a nation on this planet that was not settled by immigrants at one time or another.
#6. The United States is welcoming to legal immigrants. Illegal aliens are not immigrants by definition. The US accepts more lawful immigrants every year than the rest of the world combined.
#7. There is no such thing as the "Hispanic vote." Hispanics are white, brown, black and every shade in between. Hispanics are Republicans, Democrats, Anarchists, Communists, Marxists and Independents. The so-called "Hispanic vote" is a myth. Pandering to illegal aliens to get the Hispanic vote is a dead end.
#8. Mexico is NOT a friend of the United States. Since 1848 Mexicans have resented the United States. During World War I Mexico allowed German Spies to operate freely in Mexico to spy on the US. During World War II Mexico allowed the Axis powers to spy on the US from Mexico. During the Cold War, Mexico allowed spies hostile to the US to operate freely. The attack on the Twin Towers in 2001 was cheered and applauded all across Mexico. Today Mexican school children are taught that the US stole California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. If you don't believe it, check out some Mexican textbooks written for their school children.
#9. Although some illegal aliens enter this country for a better life, there are 6 billion people on this planet. At least 1 billion of those live on less than one dollar a day. If wanting a better life is a valid excuse to break the law and sneak into America, then let's allow those one billion to come to America and we'll turn the USA into a Third World nation overnight. Besides, there are 280 million native born Americans who want a better life. I'll bet Bill Gates and Donald Trump want a better life. When will the USA lifeboat be full? Since when is wanting a better life a good reason to trash another nation?
#10. There is a labor shortage in this country. This is a lie. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of American housewives, senior citizens, students, unemployed and underemployed who would gladly take jobs at a decent wage.
#11. It is racist to want secure borders. What is racist about wanting secure borders and a secure America? What is racist about not wanting people to sneak into America and steal benefits we have set aside for legal aliens, senior citizens, children and other legal residents? What is it about race that entitles people to violate our laws, steal identities, and take the American Dream without paying the price? For about four decades American politicians have refused to secure our borders and look after the welfare of middle class Americans. These politicians have been of both parties. A huge debt to American society has resulted. This debt will be satisfied and the interest will be high. There has already been riots in the streets by illegal aliens and their supporters. There will be more. You, as a politician, have a choice to offend the illegal aliens who have stolen into this country and demanded the rights afforded to US citizens or to offend those of us who are stakeholders in this country. The interest will be steep either way. There will be civil unrest. There will be a reckoning. Do you have the courage to do what is right for America? Or, will you bow to the wants and needs of those who don't even have the right to remain here? There will be a reckoning. It will come in November of this year, again in 2012 and yet again in 2014. We will not allow America to be stolen by third world agitators and thieves.

A second comment:
Please pass this letter on to everyone you know, including your Senators and Congressmen. We must do something about this serious problem NOW! #1.37 - Thu May 27, 2010 6:50 PM MDT
6 point plan Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals. Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas. No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws. No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services. End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong. Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods. Protect America and put illegal immigrants where they belong: back to their home countries right at the end of the line of legal immigrants patiently waiting to be approved.

This is a little long but very informative. Three times in the history of the United States US Presidents took what would today be considered a politically unpopular position by rounding up and deporting illegal aliens to create jobs for US Citizens. The first attempt occurred shortly after the banker-induced Stock Market Crash of 1929 when President Herbert Hoover ordered the round-up and deportation of illegals by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service. The Hoover roundup sent over one million Mexican illegal aliens packing—freeing up jobs for out-of-work US citizens. In addition, some 47 thousand Mexican nationals who were in the country legally, with visas, also opted to leave due to rising animosity by out-of-work Americans for any foreigner in the United States with a job. “Operation Wetback” was launched in the Southwest: Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas. But deportees also came from Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, and New York. The Hoover deportations caused an outcry from the Mexican government demanding to know what gave Hoover the right to deny Mexican citizens the right to jobs in the United States under what was called the "Good Neighbor Policy." At the end of World War II, President Harry S. Truman was faced with the same problem that plagued Hoover in 1931—no jobs for US citizens. Under Roosevelt's Public Law 78 agri-giants, who needed dirt cheap labor were allowed to import labor from Mexico even though 25% of the American labor force was out of work—and in the dust bowl farm states, unemployment stood at over 70%. Under Public Law 78, when work contracts were fulfilled, the employer was responsible, under law, to transport the migrant worker back to Mexico. As thousands of migrant workers simply vanished into the human landscape, taking what few jobs were available from American workers, Truman's solution was to issue a terse public statement admonishing Congress, and telling the American people that Congress assured him they would fix the problem. During the prosperity of the war years (1943-54), illegal alien immigration increased by 6,000%, triggering Operation Wetback II and III. In 1954, the INS estimated that illegals—not legal migrant workers—were crossing the US border at the rate of one million per year and that they were penetrating much deeper into the nation than in preceding decades because the INS concentrated their efforts only in the border States. The INS, on orders from the White House, went through the motions of rounding up both illegal aliens and migrant workers who overstayed their visas. Truman deported about 30 thousand Mexicans during his seven years in office. Truman became one of the three "deportion presidents" not for deporting Mexicans under Operation Wetback II, but under Presidential Proclamation 2655, an edict requiring the deportation of potentially dangerous WWII detainees from the Axis nations. Eisenhower was stuck will cleaning up the mess created by the open door polices 73rd and 82nd Congresses. As Eisenhower took office, illegal immigrants were now crossing at the rate of about 3 million per year. When Eisenhower assumed the Oval Office, illegal alien migration was one of his top priorities. He attributed the lax attitude of Congress about illegal immigration with a relaxation of Congressional ethical standards. A Truman-initiated study on Mexican migratory labor in 1950 found that cotton growers in Texas paid migrant workers about half what a US citizen was paid to chop cotton. As Eisenhower met with current and retired border patrol agents he learned that the big ranchers and farmers who relied on the cheap migrant labor had friends "in high places" in government. Agents were subtlety warned not to arrest the workers employed by what turned out to be powerful campaign donors. When that didn't work, they were very bluntly told to back off, or they were simply transferred where they would become someone else's problem. The two most influential Senators who blocked the efforts of the INS to do their job were then Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson [D-TX] and Sen. Pat McCarran [D-NV]. Eisenhower hired Gen. Joseph May Swing to head the INS and with units of the US National Guard, began what history now views as a quasi-military operation to find and seize illegal immigrants. As hard as Johnson tried to get rid of Swing, Eisenhower protected his man in Immigration. On July 15, 1953, the first day of Operation Wetback III, Swing's men arrested 4,800 illegals. After the first day, the INS averaged the seizure of 1,100 illegals per day. The INS devoted 700 men to the project, hoping to scare enough more illegals to flee back across the border. The INS claims that under Eisenhower's Operation Wetback, they deported 1,300,000 illegals. The open-border social progressives insist that all three phases of Operation Wetback were dismal flops, and that only a few thousand people—all of whom, they claim, were legal residents—were deported. It was Truman who pushed the Federal Immigration and National Act of 1952 through Congress in the closing days of his administration. Under Section 8 USC 1324[a](1)(A)[iv][b](iii) any US citizen that knowingly assists an illegal alien, provides them with employment, food, water or shelter has committed a felony. City, county or State officials that declare their jurisdictions to be "Open Cities, Counties or States are subject to arrest; as are law enforcement agencies who chose not to enforce this law. Police officers who ignore officials who violate Section 8 USC 1324[a](1)(A)[iv][b](iii) are committing a Section 274 federal felony. Furthermore, according to Federal Immigration and National Act of 1952, if you live in a city, county or State that refuses to enforce the law for whatever reason, the officials making those rules are financially liable for any crime committed within their jurisdiction by an illegal alien. #3.3 - Wed May 26, 2010 5:45 PM MDT

A MESSAGE FOR AMERICA

Be sure to click the header. You'll like it. This one is about a couple of pages I found at other blogs. I agree with them wholeheartedly and will help pass them along. Maybe our Congress will see them and do something to help us. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I was reading a copy of NM Stockman last night and came to the obits. Four entries read ages 83, 86, 92 and 101. And the fifth one read; Robert N. Krentz, 58, murdered on his ranch. That just ain't right. If you agree with the letter and movement below, please support them by filling out the comment form on the site. This is not some lame "sign this e-mail petition and forward" nonsense" - your comment really will help. You don't have to be a cattleman, live in the southwest or even in the states to voice your support. Contrary to what the usual dissenters are shrieking, murder, crime and national security matters are not racist issues. Don't let the PC abusers silence your voice this time. I don't usually forward e-mails to my whole e-mail list, but we need some help here in Southwestern NM and Southeastern Arizona. The Arizona Cattle Growers has come up with a plan to secure the southern border. This plan was developed with the help of local ranchers and property owners living along the border and expanded to include all the states along the border. Unfortunately, our elected officials are not listening to the handful of voters that live along the border. Only the elected representatives and senators whose constituents are being directly impacted by the increasing drug and human smuggling are alarmed. The rest of the House of Representatives and Senate have been convinced by a handful of activists this is a racial issue. It's NOT!! All Arizona is trying to do is get rid of the criminal elements that have immigrated into our border states. Their law mirrors the federal law that is not being enforced!!If you agree our borders should be secured, please sign on to this plan and forward this to others that agree. Please help us press our elected officials - nation-wide - to SECURE OUR BORDERS!! Thank you. Judy Keeler. _________________________________________________________________ If you are interested, would you please go to the web site below and endorse the Restore Our Border (ROB) plan named for Rob Krentz who was murdered by an illegal alien on his own land? The Arizona Cattle Growers need lots of endorsements. Thank you for your consideration. ROB Plan-endorsement-form http://www.azcattlemensassoc.org/rob-plan-endorsement-form.html ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++From: "David LaBonte" My wife, Rosemary, wrote a wonderful letter to the editor of the OC Register which, of course, was not printed. So, I decided to "print" it myself by sending it out on the Internet. Pass it along if you feel so inclined. Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register: ___________________________________________________________________ Dear Editor: So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry. Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags. And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet. (signed) Rosemary LaBonte __________________________________________________________________ KEEP THIS LETTER MOVING. FOR THE WRONG THINGS TO PREVAIL THE RIGHTFUL MAJORITY NEEDS TO REMAIN COMPLACENT AND QUIET!! LET THIS NEVER HAPPEN!! HILARY, DID YOU HEAR WHAT BILL SAID?

Click the header. I dare you.
It looks like, after my hiatus, that I'm going to talk about catnip.
I couldn't help the gap, Things have happened that forced me to ignore my duties as a blogger. Sometime I may remark about some of them. And then again, maybe not,
But catnip is the subject for today. Nepetalactone (the main ingredient). Nepeta cataria ("catnip", "catswort" or "catmint") is the guilty stuff. It reacts in a cat's brain and causes strange behavior like incessant caterwauling, sniffing, rubbing in it, rolling over it, kicking at it, (one of my cats growls at hers) and generally going nuts for several minutes. And then leaving it all alone. For a couple of hours. Leastwise, mine do.
It is said that tigers are sensitive to it, too. I have no personal knowledge of this. Nor am I ever likely to, either.
All this may sound like I'm going to go off about Marijuana or something. Nah. As long as your smoking doesn't interfere with me or mine, I couldn't give a dang.
What I'm on about is the catnip of pretending that illegal aliens are really only immigrants.
A dear friend of mine exploded with "BULLSHIT!" when I worded it that way. Just like the response of giving a drug to my cat, he blew up.
After I got him calmed down, this is what he had to say (in part, anyway):
LET ME SEE IF I GOT THIS RIGHT.
IF YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOR.
IF YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY. IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT.
IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED. IF YOU CROSS THE CHINESE BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN. IF YOU CROSS THE VENEZUELAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY AND YOUR FATE WILL BE SEALED.
IF YOU CROSS THE CUBAN BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO POLITICAL PRISON TO ROT.
IF YOU CROSS THE UNITED STATES BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET A JOB, A DRIVERS LICENSE, SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, WELFARE, FOOD STAMPS, CREDIT CARDS, SUBSIDIZED RENT OR A LOAN TO BUY A HOUSE, FREE EDUCATION, FREE HEALTH CARE, A LOBBYIST IN WASHINGTON BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF PUBLIC DOCUMENTS PRINTED IN YOUR LANGUAGE THE RIGHT TO CARRY YOUR COUNTRY’S FLAG WHILE YOU PROTEST THAT YOU DON’T GET ENOUGH RESPECT AND, IN MANY INSTANCES, YOU CAN VOTE. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE I HAD A FIRM GRASP ON THE SITUATION IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP AMERICA!
That was from a website he had read somewhere.
This was his:
And to those of you that keep calling out the Hispanic race as being singled out by this, it is not just Hispanics that are illegally here in the USA. Keep that in mind. There are illegals from all over the world here. Those that keep saying "Hispanic" are looking at this with blinders on. Illegal is illegal no matter what you are. And those that are here legally, shouldn't have to worry about showing ID, etc. They've done nothing wrong. And keep in mind also, that when you are overseas, you can be stopped by the local police for any reason and be asked to show proof of who you are. But here in the USA that is not the case, so it is a lot easier for illegals to move about and not worry about getting caught. Of course unless they do something really stupid like a DUI. And then the feds drag their feet, if they move at all, to come and pick up the illegal to deport them.
And he quoted: "“We should honor every legal immigrant here, working hard to become a new citizen. But we are also a nation of laws.”
President Bill Clinton,
State of the Union Address, January 23, 1996
I think my friend wants New Mexico to adopt Arizona's new law.
Just sayin'.

MUST HAVE BEEN THE CAT!

Click the header. Go on. I'm waiting.
****************************
How many times have we heard the warning to be careful what we write about in our emails?
Lots and lots and lots.
So, we are careful. But it seems some people are not so cautious.
*****************************
Albuquerque is situated in a county named Bernalillo here in old New Mexico (I liked that one).
Anyway, the County is under the political control of five elected Commisioners.
Well, seems one of the commissioners (Michael Wiener) has a sense of humor and when he came across a joke he liked, he sent it to the county jail chief and County Manager.
Here's where the story gets juicy: Seems he sent it from a private email account to some (how many is unknown) of his other cronies, too. Like other collectors of motor vehicle plates. And who knows how many others. In any case, a reporter, Thomas Cole, "just obtained" a copy of it and has published it in the Albuquerque Journal. On the front page. And it hit the fan.
Oh, okay, I guess if the granny paper of our town can print it, so can I. Herewith:
Sex In The Shower
"In a recent survey by President Obama, African Americans have proved to be the most likely to have sex in the shower!
"In the survey, carried out for him by a leading toiletries firm, a huge majority, 86 percent, of African Americans said that they have enjoyed sex in the shower.
"The other 14 percent said they hadn't been to prison yet."
Tasteless, but who am I to condemn what others find amusing?
It seems our intrepid reporter (Tom Cole) called the jail chief and the County Manager, neither of whom could recall the email, but when shown the copy, both said they considered it inappropriate.
Mike Wiener said he didn't remember sending the e-mail and wanted to know how Cole got a copy. He added: "We certainly don't condone that type of behavior in the jail."
Wiener also added that he didn't think the joke was racist although he conceded that he could see how some people might interpret it that way.
By the way, reporter Cole did NOT tell Mike Wiener how he got the copy.
Whatever happened to the old Red Skelton type of humor?
Just sayin'.

GLEN BECK MUST BE SATAN

The Header. Click the dang header. ------------------------------- The reason for this picture? Simple, really. I saw a comparison between Obamacare and the true meaning of his Health Care Plan. -------------------------------- And I haven't been able to figure that out, either. Every time I take a look at the plan (should that be a capital P?), My head starts swimming with all the potential dangers that are on almost every single page. ----------------------------------- It's sort of like inviting that hairy, tattooed guy with the bad teeth to join you at your dinner table. And stay overnight. For a week or two. Mr. President Obama apparently doesn't see it my way. He thinks (maybe?) that this disaster of a piece of legislation has a chance. He is so sold on this farce (of which, by the way, he did not write a paragraph) that he has sent one of his minions, the Reverend Jim Wallis (of whom, U.S. News and World Report said, "In more than three decades in the capital, the 60-year-old Wallis has never been much in demand.") He was apparently so liberal that, in the early 1970s, he faced pressure to leave Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Illinois because of his anti-Vietnam War activism. Oh. I'm sure there are other things he found most people would not accept, but that's not the reason for this blog. In an interview between Glen and Pat some of the conversation went like this: GLENN: "Yes. The Reverend Jim Wallis." PAT: "Oh, that Christian blogger. And by the way, did they mention that he's an advisor, a spiritual advisor to the president of the United States, Barack Obama?" But do we care about a far left evangelical, attacking a loud mouthed, often unthinking, right wing commentator? Nah. But what I see here is a man in a position of great power, stooping to squeeze a pimple when he has no need to behave this way. I see our President acting like the school bully in an attempt to discredit a man who can handle that chore himself. He can do a numer on himself. What I see is a man who has the power to destroy the world, behaving like a spoiled brat and trying to harm a citizen of his own country. Trying to harm an equally legitimate citizen who has a right to his own opinion. And that use of power scares me.

COCK FLAVORED FOOD IS HERE?

Click the header. Those who fail to do this will be watched by Big Brother.
------------------------------------------
Reality is striking at last. Slowly, but surely, you and I will learn that the "fertilizers" and "growth stimulants" being used today are changing the consistency and naturalness of our foods. Exposing our plants to radiation is fooling with the basic building blocks (remember them?) of our comestibles.
The current idea of hiding the changing flavors and tastes of our foods by oversalting and over spicing them should not really fool anyone into thinking we are eating the same food our forebears did. It is altered...and not always in a positive manner.
Chemists will explain to you that the food you feed your dog and cat are "chemically" the same as real meat. Maybe so, but this alteration seems to have moved into human consumption, also.
And it is not true that the "chemical" change is identical to the natural state of our food. (I no longer buy prepared food for my four legged friends. I now make their foods myself. From the real thing.)
For some reason, reading postings like the one below always seem to make me think of the film "Soylent Green".

PEOPLE MUST AGAIN LEARN TO WORK, INSTEAD OF LIVING ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE". CICERO, 55 BC How did Cicero know this might happen? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While I'm at it, here's a look into the poor level of our schools when it comes to teaching English. "Among the proposals are a quarter-cent increase in the gross receipts tax and a 50-cents-a-package increase in cigarette the tax (sic). Another measure will reinstate a portion of the gross receipts tax on food." Now, that could have been done in several locations while preparing for print media. But nobody caught it. Here's something else: "Lawmakers Consider Sales Tax Increase" was the headline. The thing is that New Mexico does NOT have a sales tax. Never has had a sales tax. But I find this kind of thing in common usage here. Does it indicate the schools are not doing their job in teaching our State economics to the kids? You betcha dupa it does. Not a big deal? Open to argument. But it is symptomatic of the erosion and destruction of knowledge going on in our schools. Just sayin'.

ITS ALL MINE, SHE SAID

Don't forget to click the header. Whatever happened to Preparations A through G? ------------------------------------------ In AOL's mail system, anytime you type the name "Obama" it is automatically underlined in red, which indicates a misspelling. Do they know something we don't? ------------------------------------------- For those interested in Zero Tolerance Rules, here's a few selections seen recently: Patrick Timoney, 9, was playing with Legos at lunch time at Public School 52 on Staten Island, N.Y. He particularly liked the policeman figure, since his father is a retired cop. But the boy was hauled into the principal's office for possession of a gun -- the tiny plastic one held by the Lego policeman. "They made me sign a statement," the tear-stained fourth-grader said. "She told me to write that I had a gun," he said. "She said, 'A gun is a gun'." The boy's mother had something to say about that. "This principal is a bully and a coward, and needs to be held accountable," said Laura Timoney, 44. "Why didn't anyone step up with an ounce of common sense and put an end to the harassment of my child?" (New York Daily News) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alexa Gonzalez, 12, was doodling on her desk with an erasable marker at Junior High School 190 in Queens, N.Y., when officials called in police, who arrested her and took her to the precinct house in handcuffs, detaining her for several hours. "I made two little doodles," she said later. "It could be easily erased. I started crying, like, a lot." Once reporters got on the story, school officials backpedaled. "Based on what we've seen so far, this shouldn't have happened," said City Education Department spokesman David Cantor. "Even when we're asked to make an arrest, common sense should prevail," agreed police spokesman Paul Browne. Still, the girl was suspended from school for several days, and she was sentenced to eight hours of community service. (New York Daily News) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW DID WE SURVIVE?? No matter what our kids and the new generation think about us,WE ARE AWESOME ! OUR LIFE IS LIVING PROOF ! TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then, after that, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps, not helmets, on our heads. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes. Riding in the back of a pick-up truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes made with lard, and we had white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank FLAV-OR-AID made with real white sugar. And we weren't overweight. WHY? Because we were always outside playing...that's why! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were OKAY. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride them down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Play stations, Nintendo' s and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms. WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We would get spankings with wooden spoons, switches, ping pong paddles, or just a bare hand and no one would call child services to report abuse. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! We knew the penalties involved if we talked back to out teachers and we learned to respect them and listen to what we were told. The alternative was detentions after school. These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. What can kids today do besides push buttons? We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. If YOU are one of them, CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good (?). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jay Leno: "With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of H1N1 flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KINDLES AND NOOKS I was gonna buy one of these things. At least until I thought about it and reflected on my reading habits. Well, I like to curl up on the sofa, with a cup of coffee or tea while I read. Balancing acts are not in my repertoire. I like to notate on the pages of the books I read, as various thoughts, awoken by the author, enter my mind. I like to dog ear my pages (yeah, I know, but I still do it). It's handy to throw at the dog for getting into mischief. My cat loves to curl up with me, sometimes helping to turn the pages. I sometimes snooze off while reading. The sound of a book falling on the carpet is barely noted by my ears. I'm pretty sure a "Clunk!" would wake me. It's never a problem for me to loan a book to a friend. I have noticed that books do not contribute to the radiation belts we all live in. I like that. When my butt gets sore, its an easy matter to move to a more comfortable position. Not sure how that works with a hunk of metal (or, gasp, plastic) in your hands. I know there are other reasons, too. But as for me, I like my style of reading, better than this electronic one. Oh, yes, the name "Kindle" sounds like something I should use in knitting. And "Nook" sounds almost indecent to me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is primarily a heads up, guys. While all of the news outlets have been focusing on Obama and the health care debate, the US government has been hiring some rather weird people for important tasks.

According to John Dvorak (a long time columnist for PC Magazine -- a well known commentator in the business and computer fields), the government has hired a couple of phonies to head up some programs.

The lead character is now the US Chief of Information, named Vivek Kundra. Read the article to get the details but it appears his resume is largely phony. Degrees claimed are either completely bogus or not as claimed. Dvorak has spent a great deal of time in Washington and frankly, this scares the crap out of me more than any health care debate.

Consider, personal privacy is up from grabs these days due to the constant flood of user data that flows on the web. We need some very sharp, knowledgeable people running the system and this guy is certainly not it.

Get this: the Recovery.com website the US government put together, apparently under this guy, cost 18 million dollars. Say what? What sort of freaking website cost 18 million dollars, TO PROGRAM!?!

That's right. the cost was for PROGRAMMING the site. Not for hardware like servers. Please, go to the following site and read up on it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me see if I understand all this...

If you cross the North Korean border you get 12 years hard labor.

If you cross the Iranian border illegally you are detained indefinitely.

If you cross the Afghan border illegally you get shot.

But, if you cross the U.S. border illegally, you get a driver's licence, social security card, welfare, food stamps, a place to live and free health care.

Oh well, sure. That makes sense.

THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW...

...they won't let me park in the mall. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ Be sure to click on the header. Everything's cats today.... ++++++++++++++++++++ Is it a Joke about Cat’s Jury Duty? Is the legal system serious about a cat’s jury duty? Not likely. However this week a family from Boston, Massachusetts, was bemused about the jury summons their family pet received in the mail. Of course any mail addressed to a dog, cat or pet goldfish would create some curiosity and attention, but when the mail is requesting that the animal show up in court the matter is going to garner some type of headlines. The Esposito family are fairly condident that they have discovered how their 4 legged feline made it into the jury pool in the first place. During an official census they wanted to include their cat, Sal, on the government form. They decided to scratch through the section on the form that was specified for “dogs” and replaced it with the word cat which was then followed with the name of their cat. These types of changes on forms are generally against the rules because they can cause problems while being automatically processed. Apparently this is what created a computer glitch and “Sal” the cat got listed as a human member of the Esposito household. The owners did file to have Sal disqualified as a prospective juror but that request was denied and the cat is due to show up at the Superior Court in Suffolk, Massachusetts on March 23. It’s a safe bet that members of the press will also be in attendance to document this historic moment, or maybe the Suffolk Superior Court has a feline defendant that is in need of a jury panel that consists of his true peers. I knew you needed this to perk you up after the Packers lost.

A LESSON IN GOVERNMENT SPEAK

"No one can earn a million dollars honestly." - William Jennings Bryan

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I tried enlisting one of our cats to help me figure out this problem. You can see that she eventually just gave up. I haven't had any luck in solving this one, either. Maybe you can help?
***********************************************************************************
Being retired and dependent on Social Security payments for a lot of my income, I have always looked forward to the start of the new year as a time when I get a yearly raise. (And so have a number of my friends looked forward to their raises.)
Well, I got my notification a few weeks back that there would be absolutely no increase in my lowly paid income from Uncle Sam. (Yeah, yeah, I know I paid into it all through my working life but that has nothing to do with the mathematics of it. Nor does the fact that I seem to be paying a lot more for the same things I was buying last year.) It seems that any and all increases are based on a magical thing labelled Cost Of Living. (I thought that the COLA was based on the harsh realities of living day to day. 'Taint. It's based on a mystical, magical, mathematical formula full of dungeons and dragons and things that go bump in the night. (Like nothing you've ever seen before.) Just believe me: No one ever got rich on Social Security.
A few years ago I discovered that there seems to be more than one COLA. There's one that covers Social Security retirees and apparently one that covers government employees. For example, one year I received a 1.2% increase due to the COLA. While in that same year government employees got a 2.1% increase in their COLA. Yeah, I thought it was a clerical error, too. A transposition. So I wrote my Senators and asked about it. Neither of them could bother to answer me. I called and gave my phone number when the person answering the phone said they'd have to talk to the Senator in one case, and they'd have to look up the answer in the other case. Never did hear from either of them. Well, that's not quite true. I got a form letter thanking me for writing them and informing me that they would get back to me. I'm sure glad I didn't hold my breath waiting.
But this lack of an increase this year, I was informed, was not a clerical error. It was because America did not have an increase in its cost of living in 2009. And it looked as if there wouldn't be an increase in 2010 either. They have some really great computers in the government, I guess. I mean, they seem to be capable of figuring out the future for us.
So I asked the cats to help me calculate my cost of living. You can see what happened. They gave up and decided a snooze was a better use of their time. No answer from them.
But I have figured out why "our" government didn't think there was a rise in the COL. It's simple, you see. First off, we were paying $4 a gallon for gas during part of the year. We're paying less than that now. (Of course, we are paying more than we paid a year ago. But I don't think that counts in the government's view.)
Secondly, haven't you noticed, like most all of us have, that the manufacturers of our foodstuffs have taken to putting less in our packages, cans, cartons or containers that we buy our food in and take home to consume? We sure have in our household. But, for whatever reason, the Administration says that isn't a price increase in the unit price. I'm sure their economists have a new word for it, but I'm gosh darned if I know what they use. I know what a friend of mine uses, though: "It's a screwing," he remarked the other day. He also told me that the government employees at the VA hospital here have gotten a raise. He wondered if it was a general sort of raise for good work, or if it was a government COLA raise. My cats slept through that question, too. Wish I could sleep like they do.
But if any of you can explain this to me, I will be sure to pass it on to everyone I know.
