REMEMBERING YOUR VETERAN

http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/flanders.htm Click the header for the classic poem on Veterans' Day. . The picture here shows part of a 100 combine assault on a wheat field. And what has that to do with Vet's Day? Well, the men and women who have served in our wars came home with a knowledge that Machiavellian attitudes were much too ugly and vicious and gory to be applied in our civilian lives. They learned that making a combined effort to solve the logistics would carry the day. The people building the machines, those sending the machines to the field, those gathering the fuel and so on, had to work as one with those actually doing the dirty work. It would need everyone working toward one thing to make it come together for victory of any kind. . Now, more than ever before, we need to find common ground and work together. . http://www.vfw.org/index.cfm

There's an old military saying that goes something to the effect of "amateurs study tactics; professionals study logistics." You hit the nail on the head, Cat.

I have enjoyed wandering around and reading other's Veteran's Day tributes. I wish mine had been longer, but there was so much I wanted to write about...

Do you listen to Beck?

Thank you Buck. Happy to have your agreement and praise.

Rachelle, length isn't the criterion. It's what you say that matters. And with the beauty of blogging you can add anything you want. Google doesn't get mad at you. I think.
Yes, I tune in Glen Beck every so often, but he has this unfortunate problem that bothers me.
He looks like he is in an almost constant sneer. Now, that's petty of me, but dang it, I cain't help it. Sigh.

The image and the message worked for me. You have the ability to hit the nail on the head on just a few sentences - as always!

Thank you David. Quite often brevity is indeed the soul....
